Naidu (via a text message). Discussed the spill with <br /> Elianna Florido (EHD), the night time ER on duty, she will head out to the site <br /> before 4:30 pm, to relieve Claudia. Let Elianna know that no CAL OES report was <br /> made and facility needs to make one. <br /> 4:05 pm, received a call from Claudia who indicated that they still don't have an <br /> estimate on the amount and it was more of leaking pipe than a gushing pipe, <br /> which was previously reported. Received a call from Elianna who was trying to <br /> locate the site. Let her know to call me back once she has more information on the <br /> spill. Sent an email to both Claudia and Elianna with WB referral contact <br /> information. <br /> 4:42 pm, called Elianna, received updated information, the leak originated <br /> approximately 7' bgs and at least 100-200 feet from the borings entry point, so the <br /> fuel had traveled that distance before it's odor was detected by the drillers. Elianna <br /> indicated that facility's plan is to utilize hydraulic jet to dig out the area of <br /> suspected diesel pipe puncture, let Elianna know about my concerns with this <br /> method of investigation and that it will push contamination further into the soils, <br /> asked her to voice our concerns to them and to ask how they plan on keeping <br /> contaminated liquid from entering subsurface areas. <br /> Called Steven Meeks, provided all the updated information as to the leak location <br /> and their plan for using hydraulic jets to investigate the area tomorrow at 9 am. <br /> Seven indicated that they don't have staff that works after hours to oversee it on <br /> the weekend, and also expressed his concerns with the proposed method of <br /> investigation. <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br />
