Met with Sayyad Ridwan. He called Yara's Technical
Project Engineer, Michael Anderson over to be present. They showed me how the
horizontal drilling was underneath active tracks. They reported the following:
- Drilling work is being conducted so Yara North America Inc can run pipes under
for new truck racks.
-The actual release occurred as the auger drill went horizontally 7 feet under
almost into Yara North America Inc. From what he explained, the release
saturated the dirt and they observed the smell. The diesel went through backward
through sleeve pipe to trench. This release occurred for about 10 - 15 minutes.
- Utility Quest was called but they did not know who's abandoned pipe that was.
-Acon Services has been contracted to excavate site at a depth of 7 feet to
evaluate damage tomorrow, Saturday, September 7, 2019.
- Hygienist will be contracted to assess proper cleanup on the week of September
9th.
