CHI Development Group LLC 6282.002.000
South Lathrop Commerce Center (SLCC) June 26, 2018
MONITORING WELL DESTRUCTION Page 2
As summarized in the above-referenced Work Plan, the well casings for MW-S1, MW-S2, MW-S3,
MW-S4 and MW-S5 were 2-inch-diameter PVC and were screened from approximately 10 to
20 feet below the ground surface (bgs). The tops of the wells were protected by metal standpipes
and were encased in concrete at the ground surface. A licensed drilling contractor removed the
metal standpipes and then overdrilled the well to the bottom of the previous boring (approximately
21 feet). Drilling was done using a truck-mounted hollow stem auger drill rig equipped with
8-inch-diameter augers in order to remove the annular seals around the wells. Drilling cuttings
were placed on the ground surface near the wells. Once the well materials were adequately
removed, the boreholes were grouted with neat cement using the tremie method to approximately
3 feet bgs.
The attached permit indicates that the County was satisfied with the well abandonment
procedures. Based on our observations, it is our opinion that the well destruction as described
herein was accomplished in general conformance with the requirements of the San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department and the above-referenced work plan. A completed
Department of Water Resources (DWR) Well Completion Report is attached.
If you have any questions or comments regarding this letter, please call and we will be glad to
discuss them with you.
Sincerely,
QROFESS/p,
ENGEO Incorporated FE HA <IN
s 2
Li No. 2804 Fn
avL
Ana Lua Iteve Harris, GE gTF TeCHNOP
OF CAS
al/sh/cjn
Attachments: Site Plan
Completed San Joaquin County Well and Boring Permit
cc: Mr. Lor Xiong, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
