Mr. Michael Infurna Project 92097-070.026
September 24, 1997
Page 2
— The Superfund Liens List (LIENS)
— The Emergency Response Notification System (ERNS)
— United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) National Priorities
List(NPL)
— Federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Treatment, Storage,
and Disposal (TSD) sites list
— RCRA Notifiers
— Facility Index System(FINDS)
The NPL and the RCRA TSD sites list will be reviewed for the minimum search
distance of 1 mile radius from the subject property. All other federal files will be
reviewed for the subject property and addresses adjacent to the subject property.
In addition, EMCON will review current published information for the subject property areas
to determine the physical setting of the property. This review will include available
information about topography, soils, geology, surface water hydrology, hydrogeology, and
known regional impairments to water quality in the subject property vicinity.
Task 2 - Site Visit and Sampling Activities
EMCON will visit the subject property to verify the information obtained from the activities
outlined in Task 1 and to gather additional information regarding recognized environmental
conditions. The site visit will include the following activities:
• Perform a visual reconnaissance of the subject property and adjacent properties
(with photographic documentation) to document current uses and assess the
potential for impact to the subject property by activities at adjacent properties.
• Document visible evidence of adverse impacts, contamination, spills, or storage or
disposal of chemicals or other hazardous substances on the property or adjacent to
the property.
• Collect groundwater samples at 14 locations shown on the attached drawing.
Sample locations are based on past operations, surface water drainage, and
accessibility. We proposed to use a Geoprobe® to collect groundwater samples.
SA0KAAGRIWP.DOC-97\hrd:2
