The well <br /> construction materials will be 2" diameter polyvinyl chloride <br /> ( PVC) casing . The well screen will be 0. 020 ' machine slotted PVC. <br /> The screened zone annulus will be backfilled with washed Monterey <br /> sand . A 2 ' bentonite seal will be placed above the sand pack. <br /> The annulus above the bentonite seal will be backfilled to grade <br /> with a cement grout. The monitoring wells will be fitted with <br /> concrete christie boxes or security tops with locks. The drilling <br /> and well completion will be under the supervision of a Kleinfelder <br /> staff geologist. <br /> The monitoring wells will be developed using a combination of <br /> bailing and/or pumping . After development, the wells will be <br /> purged before sampling for between 4-10 bore volumes . The <br /> groundwater samples will be appropriately preserved, stored , <br /> labeled and transported under chain-of-custody protocol to a DHS <br /> approved laboratory. The samples will be analyzed for volatile <br /> organics (EPA Method 601 ) , purgeable organic compounds (EPA Method <br /> 602 ) and metals listed in the CAC , Title 22 , Drinking Water <br /> Standards , and major ion analysis . <br /> For quality assurance on analytical sampling and analysis , a <br /> minimum of 108 field blanks and 108 duplicates will be collected <br /> in the field. A travel blank will be with the laboratory <br /> containers . Prior to field mobilization, a safety plan will be <br /> prepared for personnel protection. <br />
