Site Operation Description <br /> O/LD manufactures galvanized steel doors at 1220 E. Victor in <br /> Lodi , California. Steel panels and structural components are <br /> formed or machined, and assembled into completed doors for <br /> shipment and installation. The steel panels are formed from <br /> galvanized or prepainted steel on coils. The galvanized panels <br /> are cleaned with a caustic solution, phosphatized, and painted <br /> with an acrylic latex paint. A gas-fired steam boiler is used <br /> ` to heat the cleaning and phosphatizing solutions for the <br /> galvanized panels. The paint spray booths have a recirculating <br /> water curtain to collect paint overspray. Solvents are used to <br /> clean the paint application equipment. <br /> Paint residues and waste waters from the metal cleaning and <br /> rinsing, phosphatizing, steam boiler, and paint spray operations <br /> have been drained into a storage pond. The storage pond is an <br /> unlined surface impoundment used primarily as a settling basin <br /> and for evaporation of waste water. The pond began receiving <br /> waste waters in early 1960's and solids have been dredged from <br /> the pond several times in the 1970's. Since 1980, the used paint <br /> solvents and spray booth waste waters have been disposed <br /> according to DOHS regulations in Class 1 landfills. The <br />
