Subsurface contamination of known or unknown contaminants may be possible, particularly
naturally occurring nitrate concentrations,as referenced. Surrounding agricultural
,produce land-may-be-eontributing-nitmte4o-the under_lying_aquifer&—,
§3.4 Description of all past off-site potential and/or known above and below ground sources of
contamination identified in the area of the project site that could impact the site include:
Information conveyed by the ERS documents indicate no listings, with an almost impossible
likelihood of impact to the property from a distant contaminated site. The GeoTracker
document illustrate no listings on the property or within a one mile radius from the property.
The closest Leaking Underground Fuel Tank(LUFT)is listed as "closed." There is a
permitted Underground Storage Tank approximately one mile to the southwest.
As referenced, agricultural spray drift affecting the property from the nearest agricultural
production land could be an extremely slight possibility, since agricultural production occurs
upgradient to the property with regard to wind shed.
§ 3.5 Descriptions of all current off-site potential and/or known above and below ground sources
of contamination identified in the area of the project site include those referenced in
Sections 3.2, 3.3, and 3.4 above. Any contaminated sites can be considered"past"off-site
sources of contamination that are simultaneously"current" contaminated sources.
§ 4.0 EVALUATION OF PAST AND CURRENT SOURCES OF
CONTAMINATION IDENTIFIED AT OR NEAR THE SITE AND
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FURTHER ACTION
§ 4.1 Evaluation of each potential and/or known source of contamination identified in the above
Sections have been discussed in the respective Sections to facilitate the transfer of
information to the reader.
§ 5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
§ 5.1 Evaluation of each point-source potential contamination described (i.e., on-site septic tanks,
on-site propane tank) and non-point sources (i.e., on-site and surrounding agrichemical
applications, and nitrate in the underlying groundwater)pose an extremely low risk to the
subject property and to human health. Septic system density in this locale is sparse.
Consequently, the degree of nitrate impact to the property from this source can also be
considered extremely low. Greater nitrate impact originates from agricultural fertilization
which surrounds the property.
Chesney Consulting
