Mr. Jeff Gymer
Draft Post-Remediation Soil Gas Probe Destruction Workplan
Former Lodi MGP Site
December 17, 2015
FIELD PREPARATION ACTIVITIES
Prior to initiating the field work the following activities will be conducted:
• Obtain permits for the destruction of soil gas probes PRSG-1 through PRSG-8 from
the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department;
• Notify Underground Service Alert (USA) a minimum 48 hours prior to the
beginning of the work for the identification of all underground utilities; and,
• Conduct an underground utility survey using a private 3' part utility locator to
supplement USA to identify utilities within 10-feet of each probe.
SOIL GAS PROBE DESTRUCTION
Soil gas wells PRSG-1 through PRGS-8 were drilled to total depths ranging from 8.5 to 15.5 feet
below ground surface (bgs). Each of the soil gas wells contain dual-depth probes (one shallow and
one deep) each constructed of 1/4-inch Teflon® tubing and 6-inch long stainless steel probes. The
shallow probes were installed at depths of 5.25 feet bgs, with the exception of probe PRSG-5 where
the shallow probe was installed at 7.25 feet bgs. The deep probes were installed 3-inches above the
bottom of the drilled total depth of the boring. The location of the deep probes ranged from 8.25
to 15.25 feet bgs as summarized in Table 1 (below). The soil boring logs with probe construction
details are included in Attachment A.
Table 1: Soil Gas Probe Construction Details
Date Probe Boring Depth of Shallow Depth of Deep
Probe ID Constructed Total Depth Probe Tip Probe Tip
(feet bgs) (feet bgs) (feet bgs)
PRSG-1 1/28/15 9.5 5.25 9.25
PRSG-2 1/28/15 8.5 5.25 8.25
PRSG-3 1/29/15 15.5 5.25 15.25
PRSG-4 1/30/15 14.5 5.25 14.25
PRSG-5 1/30/15 14.5 7.25 14.25
PRSG-6 1/30/15 15.5 5.25 15.25
PRSG-7 1/27/15 8.5 5.25 8.25
PRSG-8 1/27/15 8.5 5.25 8.25
Note: feet bgs =feet below ground surface
TERRA PACIFIC GROUP Page 2
