October 28, 1981
M E M O R A N D U M
TO: Al Blevins, Chief Project Inspector
FROM: Malcolm Knisely, Assistant Traffic Engineer,,
SUBJECT: Excavation Permit No. 81-9 - Waverly Road
Reference is made to your memorandum of October 16, 1981 relative
to Excavation Permit No. 81-9 - Waverly Road. The traffic division
has checked the sight distance at the existing driveway as requested.
If the driveway is moved 157 ' to the south, the vehicles will have
stopping sight distance of 483' in each direction (approximately 55 mph) .
The traffic division also recommends acel/decel lanes at the driveway
entrance.
The current ADT on Waverly Road S/0 Shelton is 19S (April 1981) .
This count does not appear to warrant left-turn channelization.
MK: rk RECEIVED
OCT 2 8 1981
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
PLANNING DEPARTMENT
