Mark Vendeiro
September 25, 2013
Page 2
After the repaired area has properly cured, Xerxes personnel and the site contractor will perform
the normal installation pressure tests in accordance with Xerxes tank installation publications. A
Notice of Tank Repair will be provided to the tank owner indicating that the warranty will remain
in effect and continue for the duration stated in the original warranty based on the date of
purchase.
Recap:
• Confined space entry through manway.
• Determine the approximate location of the suspected leak in the inner tank.
• Take deflection readings to determine the cause of the breach.
• Repair the damage to the inner tank using approved fiberglass procedures and Instructions
By our Corporate PE.
• Insure the repaired tank thickness is equal to or greater than the original outer tank
thickness.
• Conduct a 5 psig pressure test to insure tank integrity has been maintained.
The damaged area will be repaired using an air driven, hand held Diasrit diamond cutting saw.
The area around the removed section will be sanded using an air driven, hand held Astro
grinder to ensure the new laminate adheres to the original laminate. A new laminate will be
constructed in place where the damaged laminate was removed using fiberglass mat and
woven roving that has been wet out with corrosion resistant resin. The resin encapsulated
fiberglass mat and woven roving will be placed over the areas that have had the damaged
laminate removed and then rolled out using standard hand held aluminum rollers. In accordance
with Xerxes safety procedures, all tools used in the repair of the fiberglass laminate will be air
driven tools containing no spark producing motors. All lights inside the tank will be explosion-
proof and safety certified.
Note: Xerxes' Warranty on these tanks will not start anew; however, it will continue for the
duration as stated in the original Warranty based upon the date of original purchase. In
addition, there will be a one-year warranty on materials and workmanship for the repairs
done on these tanks. This Warranty will be in effect as long as the tanks are (or were)
installed in accordance with Xerxes' written specifications and published installation
instructions. Always consult state and local codes when installing underground storage
tanks.
Please call me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Danny Garcia, CCT
Field Service Coordinator
c: Jim Anderson
Rudy Tapia
a
ZCL CORROSION XERXES ZLDUALAM ZCLTROY V=MBEAM
a ZCL company a zcc company a ZCL company m
