place in our neighborhoo( ;fore, especially an armed )berg, and it leaves me
very uncertain about entering my property especially at night when I return home
from teaching round dancing. It has reached the point that I will not enter my own
driveway at night if a car turns on Olive Ave behind me. It also concerns me that
most of the vehicles parked at the VFW are parked on th north side of the building
most of the time. There are plenty of parking places on the south side, where you
told them they should park to cut down on the noise problem, but from the very
next day after you advised them of this they chose to park on the east or the north.
I feel like I am living next door to a bar, and have no idea what may happen if
someone is inebriated and sees me drive in alone. There is traffic in & out over
there all during the day and sometimes late in the night.
On August 1, 2003, I was driving north on Olive Ave, and a man in an orange
T shirt was slightly bent over and appeared to be zipping up his pants. My
assumption was he probably had been relieving himself. He was in the area where
their barbecus is. When I made Adriam Fondse aware of this when he came to my
house to discuss another matter, he brushed it off stating that it was a habit of his
to get out of his truck, unzip his pants, and tuck in his shirt before going in the
building. In my opinion this is not acceptable.
It was my understanding that VFW would not allow RV vehicles on their
property, and that they were not to allow overnight parking. It was also my
understanding that this restriction was placed on them by the Board of
Supervisors. On June 28 early in the day I saw a rig with a small tan vehicle
behind it parked on the south side of VFW. When I returned home at 10:30 P. M.
the rig with the tow vehicle License # 416BNH was parked on Olive Ave. just north
of W. Ripon Rd. I called the sheriffs office and reported this incident. The officer
called me back and informed me that the lady in the vehicle advised him she was
with the VFW and had something to do with their fire works stand, and would be
leaving the next morning. He said if she was still there in the morning he would
make a report. Now I ask you this. What good does it do to tell the VFW they are
not to allow overnight parking, because they just do it anyway. Also, there is a
white vehicle parked on the northeast corner of their property. Is someone living
there, or why is that vehicle constantly parked there in the same place.
On June 28, Janet Spyksma called me to tell me she saw a green pickup going
down my property line next to Bryans, and wanted to know if I knew about it. I
told her I did not, but noticed just a few minutes later the green pickup she
described parked on the north side of VFW. Are they spying on me, or what reason
do they have to be down there anyway. When I discussed it with the sheriff the
next day, he said this is trespassing. This reminded me of the night when James
Brown & Betty Korte were bringing me home and my barn door was wide open
and all the lights were on. No one else has a key to my barn.
