I <br /> 1 <br /> B. No compensation shall be allowed the CONTRACTOR for changes or additions <br /> unless such work and the compensation therefor are covered by prior <br /> written authorization from the OWNER. Payments for such work shall be <br /> made on one or more of the following bases at the option of the OWNER: <br /> I <br /> 1 . Lump Sum; <br /> 2. Unit Price ; or <br /> 3. cost of Work Plus a Contractor 's Fee for Overhead and Profit. <br /> } Estimates for Lump Sum work shall give a detailed breakdown of labor, <br /> material and equipment. On Cost-Plus work , the CONTRACTOR shall submit <br /> for approval daily time , material , and equipment sheets. These sheets <br /> shall accompany CONTRACTOR 's invoice for payment. <br /> C. When authorized changes to the Work would delay completion of the Contract <br /> as a whole , then the time of completion shall be extended for such <br /> reasonable time as the OWNER may determine. <br /> j ARTICLE 24 -. SUSPENSION OF WORk <br /> A. The OWNER may , at any time , suspend the Work , or any part thereof , by <br /> giving five (5) days notice in writing to the CONTRACTOR. The Work shall <br /> j be resumed by the CONTRACTOR within ten (10) days after the date fixed in <br /> a written notice from the OWNER to the CONTRACTOR to proceed. <br /> jB. In case of suspension of all or part of the Work , causing additional <br /> expense not due to the fault or negligence of the CONTRACTOR , the OWNER <br /> shall reimburse the CONTRACTOR for the additional expense incurred due to <br /> suspension of the Work , provided , however, that this provision shall not <br /> be construed as entitling the CONTRACTOR to compensation' for delays due to <br /> inclement weather, or to suspension made at the request of the CONTRACTOR , <br /> or for any other delay provided for in the Contract Documents. In order <br /> to receive consideration , claims for such compensation , with complete <br /> substantiating records , shall be filed with the OWNER within ten (10) days <br /> i after the date of the order to resume the Work. <br /> C. If the Work , or any part thereof, shall be suspended 'by the notice in <br /> writing from the OWNER as aforesaid, and if the OWNER does not give notice <br /> in writing to the CONTRACTOR to resume the Mork at a date within one year <br /> of the date fixed in the written notice to suspend , then the CONTRACTOR <br /> may abandon that portion of the Work so suspended, and he will be entitled <br /> to the estimates and payment' for all Work done , if any , on the portions so <br /> abandoned. <br /> ARTICLE 25 - LIEN LAWS <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall comply fully with all requirements of applicable <br /> mechanic 's lien laws , compliance with which by the CONTRACTOR would protect <br /> the OWNER and the OWNER.'s property against the filing of mechanic 's liens by <br /> Subcontractors , material suppliers , laborers or other third parties in <br /> connection with Work under the Contract. <br /> i <br /> Issue D <br /> GCL-14- <br />
