Successful startup of entire facility shall be accomplished prior to <br /> determination of substantial completion as defined in the Supplemental <br /> Conditions. <br /> E. Operation: The operation period begins when the facility has been <br /> successfully started as specified in this section. <br /> F. Owner-Furnished Equipment Contractor: The party under separate contract <br /> with Owner for furnishing certain equipment, and responsible for services <br /> during testing and startup as specified. <br /> 1.4 TESTING AND STARTUP RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> A. Contractor's Responsibilities: The Contractor shall: <br /> 1. Furnish labor and materials, tools, instruments, and services for <br /> checking, testing, and startup specified for each equipment item. This <br /> includes such services as manufacturers' representatives, <br /> subcontractors, electricians, instrumentation technicians, and <br /> pipefitters. <br /> 2. Prepare testing schedule and incorporate testing and startup activities <br /> in the progress schedule for the work. <br /> 3. Designate one person to be responsible for coordinating and <br /> expediting testing and startup responsibilities, and to be present during <br /> all pre-startup meetings and available to Owner's personnel during the ti <br /> testing and startup. <br /> 4. Develop a standard testing log to be used as a record of testing of <br /> each equipment item and subsystem. This log shall: <br /> a. Be subject to approval of Engineer. <br /> b. Include subsystem and equipment name. <br /> C. Have provisions for recording dates of completion for checking, <br /> inspection by manufacturer, verification of instrumentation and <br /> controls, and completion of subsystem tests, and <br /> d. Provide space for problems remaining with equipment and for <br /> signature of Engineer and manufacturer's representative <br /> indicating acceptance. <br /> 5. Notify Engineer and Owner and respective equipment manufacturers <br /> when each equipment system is scheduled to be initially started; also <br /> submit testing plan starting schedule and quantity and source of <br /> utilities, chemicals, and other materials needed. <br /> 1.5 SUBMITTALS { <br /> A. Contractor shall submit the following: <br /> 1. Functional test schedule. <br /> 2. Terminology of each auto-dialer message described in functional and f <br /> performance tests. <br /> PART 2 PRODUCTS (Not Used) <br /> BAE31604.AS.T1 <br /> 01650 2 STARTING OF SYSTEMS <br />
