31604.DSK
WP-SFO
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 FUNCTIONAL TESTING PREPARATION
A. Functional tests are primarily intended to check PLC logic, auto dialer, and
interlock control.
L Make temporary electrical connections necessary to perform functional
tests.
2. Provide temporary power as needed to complete functional tests.
3. Make space available at Contractor's or package system suppliers
facility to conduct functional tests.
4. Prepare functional test schedule and notify both the Engineer and
Owner 5 days prior to testing. The Engineer and Owner shall have
the option to witness functional testing.
3.2 FUNCTIONAL TESTING
A. The following Tests 1 through 7 shall be completed prior to delivery of
package systems to the project site.
1. Test 1. Vapor extraction and sparging systems start and stop with a
timed signal from the PLC.
2. Test 2. Low sparging blower pressure switch activation, signals
extraction blower to stop and notify auto-dialer to send message.
3. Test 3. High level switch in air/water separator signals auto-dialer to
send message.
4. Test 4. High-high level switch in air/water separator signals sparging
blower and extraction blower to stop and notify auto-dialer to send
message. Systems restart when level drops below high level.
5. Test 5. High extraction blower pressure switch activation, signals
sparging blower and extraction blower to stop and notifies auto-dialer
to send message.
6. Test 6. Low extraction blower intake vacuum pressure switch
activation, signals sparging blower to stop and notifies auto-dialer to
send message. Sparging system restarts when vacuum pressure
resumes.
7. Test 7. Low oil pressure or high coolant temperature will stop the
engine system and send signal to PLC to notify auto-dialer to send
message.
3.3 PERFORMANCE TESTING
' A. Performance testing shall occur after installation of equipment at the project
site.
B. Performance testing shall include the following Tests S through 12.
1. Test 8. Start sparging and extraction systems and demonstrate that
they comply with the performance specifications for pressure and
flowrate under operating conditions.
2. Test 9. Demonstrate timed start and stop of sparging and extraction
systems by completing two automatic cycles of start and stop with a
30-minute run and 30-minute stop during each cycle.
BAE31604.AS.T1
01650 3 STARTING OF SYSTEMS
