• All site personnel will have been medically qualified, fit tested, and qualified in <br /> the use of the appropriate respirator within the past 12 months <br />' • Only properly cleaned, maintauied, NIOSH-approved respirators are to be used <br /> PP sp <br /> on this site <br /> • If air- un m re irators are used the respirator P fY g sp sp ator cartridge is to be disposed of <br /> at the end of each work shift, or when load-up or breakthrough occurs <br /> Contact lenses are not to be wom when a respirator is required <br /> • All site personnel will be clean shaven in facial areas which touch the sealing <br /> surface of the respirator <br /> • Respirators will be inspected and both a positive and negative pressure test will <br /> be performed prior to each use <br />' • When respirators are being used, they shall be cleaned at the end of the work <br /> shift using mild soap and warm water, and left to air dry After drying, the <br /> respirator will be stored in a clean plastic bag <br /> 5.3 Using Personal Protective Equipment <br /> All persons entering the EZ shall put on the required PPE in accordance with the <br /> requirements of this plan When leaving the EZ, PPE will be removed in accordance with the <br /> procedures listed, in order to minimize the spread of contamination. <br /> 5.3.7 Donning Procedures <br /> These procedures are mandatory, only if Level C or higher PPE is required for the project. <br /> • Remove bulky outerwear <br /> • Put on the required chemical protective coveralls <br /> • Put on chemical protective boots <br /> • Tae the les of the coveralls to th <br /> P g e boots with duct tape <br /> * Put on chemical protective gloves. <br /> • Tape the wrists of the protective coveralls to the gloves <br /> IM7111-29-94/RHS/HASP/94-0037JAP 5.3 <br />
