• <br /> GEOLOGIC & GEOMORPHIC PROVINCE: <br /> i <br /> The site is located in the southern portion of the Sacramento Valley, which is the <br /> northern portion of the geomorphic province referred to as the Great Valley of <br /> California. This large basin, which contains in excess of 20,000 feet of <br /> sediments, extends from Red Bluff on the north to the Transverse Ranges on the <br /> south. The area is one of very low relief with surface drainage to the west at <br /> about 57mile. <br /> DEPTH TO GROUNDWATER: <br /> i <br /> Groundwater was measured at an average depth of 7.29' bgl during the July, <br /> 1998 sampling event. This was a drop of almost one foot since the April event. <br /> During the work covered in this report, the water table was located at about 15 <br /> feet below grade. <br /> BRIEF REVIEW OF PRIOR WORK DONE TO DATE: <br /> June. 1994 - Two 1,000 gallon gasoline UST's, product lines, & pumps were <br /> • removed from the property. There was obvious contamination noted during tank <br /> removal. After taking soil samples, the soil was returned to the hole. <br /> October. 1994 - Approximately 128 CY'ds of contaminated soil was removed from <br /> the site & disposed of at a licensed landfill. Soil samples were taken and the hole <br /> was filled with clean material, and covered with asphalt. Refer to WJH report <br /> titled Interim Report Covering Results of Soil Contamination Investigation Valley <br /> Wholesale Drugs, dated January 3, 1995 for details of that work. <br /> August 3. 1995 - Three soil borings and three groundwater monitoring wells were <br /> placed on the property under the supervision of an RG from Wm. J. Hunter & <br /> Associates. There locations are shown on PLATE I. The details of that work are <br /> covered in the WJH report titled Interim Report Covering Soil & Groundwater <br /> Investigation, Valley Wholesale Drugs, dated October 11, 1995. <br /> DETAILS OF LATEST WORK PERFORMED: <br /> On August 25, 1998, Wm, J. Hunter, RG from Wm. J. Hunter &Associates, <br /> arrived at 0845 hours and made a final check of the locations previously marked. <br /> A V & W Drilling, Inc. Geoprobe unit operated by Travis Mills arrived at 0915 <br /> hours. The unit was equipped with 4 foot lengths of 2" diameter hollow threaded <br /> steel pipe. The 2 foot long soil sample chamber holds a clear plastic insert. <br /> When the core barrel is recovered, the plastic sleeve is removed and the entire <br /> 2 <br />
