All the bulk
storage containers at Cecchini Trucking are tested periodically according the STI SP001
standard which is the only industry standard that pertains to the type of tanks installed at the
facility. Refer to the tables below which identify the Category and Testing intervals for each
tank installed at the facility based upon the STI SP001 industry standard.
The 12,000 -gallon diesel tank is shop -fabricated and is a Category 1 tank. The STI
SP001 standard requires this tank to be periodically inspected according to the STI
SP001 Inspection Checklist (Monthly & Annual). A formal periodic external (P, E)
inspection is required every twenty (20) years by a Certified Inspector. Based on the
paperwork that came with the tank, the last STI inspection was performed on March
24, 2006 when the tank shipped from the manufacturer, Modern Welding Company of
California Inc. The next STI inspection is due in 2026.
Note: See Section 5.0 (Inspection Schedule) and Section 6.0 (Periodic AST
Inspections) in the Standard for the Inspection of Aboveground Storage Tanks
Guidebook (Issued September 2011, 5th Edition).
