F Comprehensive Capabilities and Services Offered
Initial Review of Current and Historical Site Data o
Perhaps the most difficult aspect of a bioremediation project is the initial determination of
what information is required, what the specific purpose and uses of the data will be, and the
parameters which should be evaluated so that technically-sound decisions are made regarding
costs, applicability and/or the efficacy of a desired bioremedial investigation or approach.
X14
On initial contact, we generally request that the client provide us with historical site informa-
tion and proposed activities to make initial interpretations of project parameters (i.e., analyti-
cal results, past:Itreatments). This preliminary review will allow Biologic to become familiar
with the project in order to identify potential problem areas, and attain comparative back-
ground data soithat recommendations can be made. The.appropriate review of project data
typically allows'BioLogic to develop a comprehensive plan of feasible options and alterna-
tives, costs, and'generally can provide the information needed to assist our clients in develop-
ing workplan and in regulatory/client interactions.
General Project Information Review
Prior to project' initiation, it is very important that the Biologic team member assigned to
your site becomes familiar with any available data you may have. The following is a compre-
hensive list of the data which may generally be evaluated:
i
T7 Q Site layout Q Nearby public wells
H.. Q Well locations Q Microbial data
Q Well design:] Q Nutrient concentrations
Q Analytical data (contaminant) Q Time parameters for completion
Q Previous treatment methods Q Contaminant of concern
Q Routine or proposed activities Q Site lithology
(i.e.,quarterly monitoring, Q Local drinkingwater aquifers
additional investigations) Q Grain Size distributions
Q Soil composition Q Preferential flow paths
Q Hydraulic conductivity Q Definition of potential exposure
Q Depth to groundwater pathways and receptors
Q Groundwater seasonal fluctuation table Q Written regulatory directives, non-
Q Groundwater flow direction confidential correspondence
Q Closure (No Further Action) levels
2
:I
