During a July 16 , 2004 telephone
conversation , a representative of Clearwater assured SJC/EHD that the injection of
nutrients would not proceed at your site without first obtaining a Permit for Waste
Discharge from the CVRWQCB. Following this conversation , SJC/EHD issued boring
permit #38829 for installation of the proposed oxygen infusion points . A copy of this
permit was sent to Clearwater via fax on July 16 ,2004.
Clearwater has stated that they will continue to. evaluate the feasibility of nutrient
enhancement at your site, and may possibly propose to initiate it at some point during the
remediation process . SJC/EHD would approve the addition of nutrients if it is
appropriately justified , and if the required permit is obtained from the CVRWQCB .
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337 .
Donna Heran , REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Lori Duncan , Senior REHS Margam Supervising REHS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV
cc: James Barton , CVRWQCB
Jim Daley, Clearwater
