Furry Road
Lodi, CA 95240
WAIVER OF WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS PER RESOLUTIONNO. R5-2003-008,
BEAR CREEK WINERY, SAN JOA QUIN COUNTY
v
Staff has reviewed your 27 March 2003 request for a waiver of waste discharge requirements for the
discharge of groundwater well development water at the Bear Creek Winery. The well is being drilled
for water supply at the winery and as part of the well development, groundwater will be discharged to
the wastewater application area where it will evaporate and percolate. The water will be contained by
berms to prevent runoff to surface water drainages. The well will be constructed in late May or ear13i*,-
June 2003; therefore, groundwater will not be discharged to the land application area during the rainy
season.
Based on the information submitted, staff has determined that the proposed project qualifies for a waiver
of waste discharge requirements under the"Test Pumpings of Fresh Water Wells"category of
Resolution No. R5-2003-0008. If at any time there is inadequate capacity in the land application area,
the well development discharge must cease until adequate capacity is available.
Should new information come to our attention that indicates a water quality problem, or if you change
the nature or scope of the waste discharge, then you will be required to spbrAit a Report of Waste
Discharge and this waiver may no longer be appropriate. Please inform staff when the discharge has
ceased.
If you have any questions, please contact Tim O'Brien at (916)255-3116.
v ,h'l,llR poG
THOMAS R.
