SECTION 12 - PROGRESS MEETINGS The Contractor, and subcontractor(s) if requested by the City, shall attend weekly progress meetings, as necessary, that will be scheduled by the Engineer Full compensation for conforming to the requirements of this section, not otherwise provided for, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract items of work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed SECTION 13 - PRESERVATION OF PROPERTY Due care shall be exercised to avoid damage to existing roadway improvements, utilities, adjacent property, and roadside trees and shrubbery that are not to be removed The Contractor's attention is directed to Section 5 02 of the City of Tracy Standard Specifications Roadside trees and shrubbery that are not to be removed, and pole lines, fences, signs, survey markers and monuments, buildings and structures, conduits, pipe lines under or above ground, sewer and water lines, all roadway facilities, and any other improvements or facilities within or adjacent to the project shall be protected from injury or damage and, if ordered by the Engineer, the Contractor shall provide and install suitable safeguards approved by the Engineer, to protect such objects from injury or damage If such objects are injured or damaged by reason of the Contractor's operations, they shall be replaced or restored, at the Contractor's expense, to a condition as good as when the Contractor entered upon the work, or as good as required by the Contract Documents, if any such objects are a part of the work being performed under the Contract Any survey monuments that are removed as part of the construction shall be replaced by the Contractor, and a Record of Survey, as required by state law, shall be filed by a licensed Land Surveyor at the Contractor's expense The fact that any such pipe or other underground facility is not shown upon the Plans shall not relieve the Contractor of his responsibility under this Section It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to ascertain the existence of any underground improvements or facilities indicated on the plans, indicated by locating services, or evidenced by facilities visible in the field, which may be subject to damage by reason of his operations Full compensation for conforming to the requirements of this section, not otherwise provided for, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract items of work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed SECTION 14 - PROTECTION OF EXISTING UTILITIES The Contractor is required to take due precautionary measures regarding the existing underground, overhead, and at-grade utilities (including their associated structures), which are not to be changed in location, by carefully supporting and protecting them from damage In case of damage, the Contractor, without additional compensation, August 2001 Division 11 -6 Ball Park& Park& Ride Wells Ph 1
