I � <br /> SECTION 16 - DUST AND NOISE CONTROL <br /> At all times, including weekends and holidays, during construction and until final <br /> completion and acceptance of the work, the contractor shall comply with the City Dust <br /> Control Ordinance and prevent the formation of an airborne dust nuisance by watering <br /> as required by the Engineer, and to treat the site of the work in such a manner that it will <br /> confine dust particles to the immediate surface of the work The Contractor shall <br /> perform such treatment immediately during construction hours and within two (2) hours <br /> after notification by the Engineer that the airborne nuisance exists If the Contractor fails <br /> to remove the nuisance within the above time frame, the City may order that the <br /> treatment of the site be done by City personnel and equipment or by others All <br /> expenses incurred in the performance of this treatment shall be charged to the <br /> Contractor The cost shall be paid for by the Contractor separately or be deducted from <br /> the periodic payments to the Contractor as the City incurs such costs <br /> The Contractor shall make every reasonable effort to control noise generated as a result <br /> of this construction to the satisfaction of the Engineer Use of air wrenches, <br /> jackhammers and other vibrating and loud sound generating equipment shall be limited <br /> to between the hours of 7 30 a m and 4 30 p m unless otherwise authorized by the <br /> ' Engineer Sound blankets (acoustical curtains) or equal, as a minimum, shall be <br /> provided along the appropriate side(s) of the well drilling site(s) to reduce the noise level <br /> to the City's standard requirements Wall height, length and location shall be adequate <br /> to assure proper acoustical performance If at any time prior to or during the drilling <br /> operation the noise limits are exceeded, the Contractor shall take immediate corrective <br /> action through drilling equipment modifications, addition of noise abatement equipment, <br /> or change in operating procedures The Contractor shall not resume the drilling <br /> operations until he is in compliance with the noise limits <br /> All hauling trucks or other construction vehicles leaving the site shall be cleaned of mud or <br /> dirt clinging to exterior body surfaces or wheel rims before traveling on City streets outside <br /> the work limits All trucks coming to or leaving the site with materials or loose debris shall <br /> be loaded in a manner, which will prevent dropping of materials or debris on City streets <br /> Spillage resulting from hauling operations along or across any public traveled way shall be <br /> removed immediately at the Contractor's expense <br /> The Contractor's attention is directed to Section 7 09, "Project Site Maintenance" of the <br /> City of Tracy Standard Specifications for compliance with the City's dust control <br /> requirements <br /> Full compensation for conforming to the requirements of this section, not otherwise <br /> provided for, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract <br /> items of work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed <br /> August 2001 Division 11 -8 Ball Park& Park& Ride Wells Ph 1 <br />
