SECTION 17 - DISPOSAL OF MATERIAL Unless otherwise shown on the plans or specified herein, all excess materials (except drill cuttings) shall become property of the Contractor and disposed of by the Contractor The City will accept the drill cuttings from the Well sites upon the Contractor's delivery of them to the WasteWater Treatment Plant located on Arbor Road The Contractor shall be responsible for disposing all excess materials in a safe and legal manner No material shall be placed on private property or public property without prior approval from the City and the property owner The Contractor shall not allow any refuse, excavated material, surplus concrete or mortar, or any washings therefrom, to be disposed upon paved streets or, into catch basins Wastewater from drilling and development/test pumping shall be disposed of to the satisfaction of the Engineer The Contractor shall take care to discharge the fluids in such a manner that does not cause pollution, erosion, rutting of the ground surface, other damage to the existing land condition, flooding, increased turbidity, or other damage to property Fluids containing silt, sand or mud shall be treated by retention in settling ponds/tanks or by filtration in order to prevent Undesirable fluids from entering the City's storm drain system The Contractor shall, as part of his pre-bid project reconnaissance, determine what temporary disposal pipeline routes are required and the pipe lengths that will be needed The temporary disposal pipelines shall be laid along routes approved by the Engineer and in a safe manner All materials removed from the existing improvements, which in the opinion of the Engineer have salvage value but not reused, shall be delivered to the City Corporation Yard at 520 Tracy Boulevard, at no additional cost to the City Disposal of materials shall conform to the provision of Section 300 02 "Disposal of Materials" of the City of Tracy Standard Specifications ' The Contractor shall be charged prevailing dumping fees at the County's landfill site, , should the Contractor elect to dispose of waste material at that particular site Full compensation for conforming to the requirements of this section, not otherwise provided for, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract items of work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed SECTION 18 - CONSTRUCTION WATER Construction water is available at no cost to the Contractor The Contractor is responsible for obtaining the required permit from the City and complying with all City backflow prevention requirements prior to obtaining any construction water from City hydrants If a water truck is to be employed, Contractor is to provide an approved water truck, complete with backflow prevention devices iFull compensation for conforming to the requirements of this section, not otherwise provided for, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract items of work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed August 2001 Division 11 -9 Bail Park& Park& Ride Wells Ph 1
