i <br /> SECTION 19 -WATER AND SEWER SHUTDOWN <br /> Shut down of water or sewer services shall be done only during non-business hours and <br /> after the Contractor has coordinated the shut down with the Engineer When a water <br /> main, sewer main, or service lateral is to be shut down, the Contractor shall coordinate <br /> and notify the Engineer in writing, at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance of the shut <br /> down The Contractor shall proceed with the work in an expedient manner until the water <br /> lines or sewer lines are back in service <br /> Continuous water service within and adjacent to the project site is essential at all times <br /> If water service is disrupted for more than four (4) hours, the Contractor shall provide an <br /> alternate, temporary water service to those areas, all at no cost to the City <br /> ' The Contractor at his own cost shall immediately repair any sewer line broken during <br /> construction The Contractor shall provide temporary bypass of sewers and shall be <br /> responsible to maintain sewer service at all times throughout the duration of the project <br /> The Contractor shall schedule and coordinate the necessary shutting down of the existing <br /> water main and sewer main with the City of Tracy Utility Division, the shut down shall be <br /> held to a minimum and the Contractor shall have all materials required for the work at the <br /> job site pnor to requesting the shut down of the existing water main and sewer main <br /> Full compensation for conforming to the requirements of this section, not otherwise <br /> provided for, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract <br /> items of work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed <br /> SECTION 20 - INSPECTION <br /> The work shall be done by the Contractor to the complete satisfaction of the Engineer, <br /> ' and in accordance with the requirements of the City Inspection of the work will be <br /> performed by the City, along with the permitting agencies (the State's Department of <br /> Health Services and the County's Public Health Services) that have jurisdictional <br /> responsibilities over a portion of the work <br /> The Engineer shall at all times have safe access to the work during its construction so <br /> that it can be ascertained that the stock and materials used and employed, and the <br /> workmanship, are in accordance with the requirements and intention of the Contract <br /> Documents All work done and all materials furnished shall be subject to his inspection <br /> ' and approval In the event the Contractor elects to work on a Saturday, Sunday or legal <br /> Holiday, the Contractor shall notify the Engineer in advance in order that the inspection <br /> can be scheduled a Saturday, Sunday or legal Holiday <br /> The Contractor shall notify the Engineer at least two (2) working days prior to <br /> commencing work so that inspection can be arranged If the Contractor's work is <br /> suspended or no work has been prosecuted for three (3) days, at least two (2) days <br /> notice shall be given to the Engineer prior to performing additional work <br /> August 2001 Division I1 -10 Ball Park & Park& Ride Wells Ph 1 <br />
