i 1 SECTION 24 - PROJECT SITE SAFETY The Contractor shall familiarize himself with the project site conditions Safety of open trenches and other construction work is the Contractor's responsibility The Contractor's ' attention is directed to the location of the project site within the vicinity of residential areas, commercial areas, and schools The Contractor shall provide and erect proper signs, barricades, and fences as directed by the Engineer to safely secure the construction area Full compensation for conforming to the requirements of this section, not otherwise provided for, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract items of work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed SECTION 25 - SUPERVISION OF WORK The Contractor shall employ superintendent on site for coordination of all work with the P Y a City and neighboring property owners Prior approval of the Superintendent will be required from the City and the City reserves the right to request appropriate replacement of the Superintendent any time during construction of the project ' Due to the high degree of ongoing coordination with the City, the Contractor shall provide the superintendent's, or other company contact person's, name and phone number to be used after construction hours and in an emergency The City requires the Contractor's immediate mitigation of any project related traffic or other safety issue 24 hours a day Full compensation for conforming to the requirements of this section, not otherwise provided for, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract items of work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed SECTION 26 — PROSECUTION OF THE WORK Once work has started on the project, the Contractor shall diligently prosecute the work to assure that the project is completed within the specified time Throughout the construction period, the Contractor shall keep the sites of the work in a presentable condition in accordance with these specifications The Contractor must provide, if at all possible and appropriate, for continuous operations from the time work is commenced to completion No unnecessary delays or work stoppages will be tolerated All work shall ' be performed under the direct supervision of an experienced water well driller SECTION 27 — BOUNDARIES OF THE WORK The Contractor shall not enter on or occupy with personnel, tools, equipment, or material, any property other than that owned by the City without the specific written consent of the City of such property August 2001 Division 11 -12 Ball Park & Park & Ride Wells Ph 1
