1 <br /> SECTION 3 — ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION <br /> The Contractor shall develop an Environmental Protection Plan (EPP) and submit it to <br /> the Engineer within five (5) days from the date of the Notice to Proceed The <br /> Environmental Protection Plan shall include, but not limited to, the following items <br /> 1 Copies of all required permits, <br /> 2 Proposed sanitary landfill site, <br /> 3 Other proposed disposal sites, <br /> 4 Copies of any agreements with public or private landowners regarding <br /> equipment, materials storage, borrow sites, fill sites, or disposal sites Any such <br /> agreement made by the Contractor shall be invalid if its execution causes <br /> violation or local or regional grading or land use regulations <br /> All of the Contractor's operations shall comply with all federal, state, and local <br /> regulations pertaining to water, air, solid waste, and noise pollution At all times, special <br /> measures shall be taken to prevent oily or other hazardous substances from being <br /> deposited on the ground or entering the storm drain system Any soil or water which is <br /> contaminated due the Contractor's operations shall be disposed of in accordance with <br /> applicable regulations This includes petroleum products, bituminous materials, salts, <br /> acids, alkalies, herbicides, pesticides, disinfectants, organic chemical and inorganic <br /> wastes (i a paint, paint thinner, solvents, motor oil, fuels, resins and other substances) <br /> No dumping or surplus concrete or grout on the site will be permitted <br /> Water containing mud or silt resulting from the Contractor's operations shall be treated <br /> by filtration, or retention in a settling pond, adequate to prevent muddy water from <br /> entering the City storm drainage system <br /> The Contractor shall keep noisy equipment as far as possible from noise-sensitive site <br /> boundaries and shall use electric power in lieu of internal combustion engine power <br /> wherever possible If non-complying levels are found, the Contractor shall be <br /> responsible for correcting the excessive noise <br /> i MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> Full compensation for conforming to the requirements of this section, not otherwise <br /> provided for, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for various contract items <br /> of work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed <br /> ' SECTION 4—TRAFFIC CONTROL <br /> It is the responsibility of the Contractor to install and coordinate his traffic control plan <br /> with other contractors and utility companies working on adjacent roadways so as to <br /> avoid delays and conflicts to either protect <br /> i <br /> August 2001 Division IIr -3 Ball Park& Park& Ride Wells Ph 1 <br /> i <br />
