July 8, 1988 AGS Job No. 38032-2
UNOCAL Service Station No. 6981, Stockton, California
of known public utilities at or adjacent to the site are depicted
on Plate P-3. There are no septic tanks in the area known to
Applied GeoSystems.
PROPOSED WORK
The following tasks are proposed to evaluate the degree and
lateral extent of hydrocarbon contamination onsite:
a Perform a soil vapor survey of the site and surrounding
area.
F .. o Excavate two soil borings in locations near the boundaries
of contamination based on the results of the soil vapor
survey and one soil boring near the suspected source of
contamination. The borings will be drilled to 20 feet below
the ground--water surface, or approximately 50 feet below the
ground surface and will be used for the installation of
c} monitoring wells.
a Collect and classify relatively undisturbed soil samples at
5-foot intervals in the soil borings.
o Construct three ground-water monitoring wells in the
borings. The wells will be constructed using 2-inch inner
diameter, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) casing.
E
Q Develop the wells and collect ground-water samples.
o Analyze selected soil and ground-water samples for
hydrocarbon product constituents in a laboratory certified
by the State of California.
r o Evaluate the local ground-water gradient by surveying the
top of each well casing, measuring static ground-water
depths in the wells, and calculating the relative elevation
-of-the-ground-water-surf ace.,;i:;n-each-well.
7
A0,01led COOSYSMInS -
