H. SITE AND STUDY AREA RECONNAISSANCE <br /> A. Site—Land Usage <br /> The site consists of an approximately 62-acre parcel comprised-of agricultural land, <br /> a dairy area, and a stockpiled till area, described below. Weed covered dirt access <br /> roads are on the site perimeter. An unlined Irrigation ditch Is on the north side of the <br /> site. A lined Irrigation ditch Is In the south side. Power transmission towers traverse the <br /> north part 'of the land. <br /> The agricultural land is about 58 acres in size and is planted in alfalfa. <br /> The:dairy area Is about 3 acres In size and contains 2 residential structures with <br /> detached garages, several farm buildings, an operating well, an abandoned well, a filler <br /> pipe for an underground storage tarok, and other dairy related Improvements. Except for <br /> a corral area, which was essentially barren, areas not occupied by structures or gravel- <br /> surfaced driveways/turnaround areas, were vegetated with dead and live: grasses/weeds <br /> and live mature bushes and trees. This area also contains:two 55 gallon steel drums; <br /> one full of household garbage, the other, empty; two 55 (?) gallon wood barrels, one <br /> full of lawn clippings, the other full of trash; and an empty 250-gallon steel tank. Also <br /> present were a gasoline engine driven refrigeration compressor, an abandoned car, <br /> scattered household furniture, auto parts, broken toys and other discards/debris. <br /> The stockpiled fill area is about 1 acre in the northeast corner of the site. The <br /> fill stockpiles are 3 to 4 feet high and are comprised of soil with sparse''concrete arid <br /> asphalt debris. <br /> R:604.09N` - 2 - 6/11/89 <br />
