v
Free Product r
Measurable free product was not observed in any of the wells. Trace free product as sheen
was observed in Monitoring Wells MW-9 and MW-10 during sampling.
GROUND WATER SAMPLING
Ground water samples collected from Monitoring Wells MW-1 through MW-8, and MW-11
through MW-15 on September 21, 1992,were transported to a California-certified laboratory
for analysis.
Laboratory results of ground water sampling are summarized in Table 1. The official
laboratory reports and chain of custody record are presented in Appendix C.
i
FINDINGS
• Trace free product was observed as a slight sheen in MW-9 and MW-10.
Based on analysis of ground water samples collected September 21, 1992,
maximum concentrations of TPH-G and benzene were detected in Monitoring
Wells MW-8 (2300 and 1300 ppb) and MW-1 (910 and 420 ppb). Monitoring
Wells MW-8 and MW-9 are in the vicinity of the former underground storage
tanks. t
• TPH-G and BTEX were not detected at or above reported detection limits in
Monitoring Wells MW-2 through MW-7 and MW-10 through MW-15, in which
! samples were collected.
• Laboratory analysis detected fecal coliform in ten of the wells. See Table 1 for
a summary of results.
CONCLUSIONS
• The lateral extent of the dissolved-phase benzene plume is approximately assessed
in all directions. All wells containing dissolved hydrocarbons are in the vicinity or
downgradient from the former USTs.
e Continued fecal coliform(F.C.) detection in monitoring wells south of the onsite 7-11
building are likely a result of a leaking onsite sewer lateral.
2
f
