Supplemental Investigation Work Plan <br /> BP Site No 11191 <br /> C A M B R I A Stockton, California <br /> June 21, 2002 <br /> Well Installation• The borings will be converted into 2-inch diameter monitoring wells The <br /> wells will be constructed of schedule 40 polyvinyl chloride and screened with 15 feet of <br /> 0 010-inch machined slot A filter pack consisting of No 2/12 sand will be installed to 1 to 2 feet <br /> above the top of the well screen, which will be overlain by I to 2 feet of bentonite, and bentonite- <br /> cement grout to the surface (see Appendix A) Traffic-rated vault boxes will be installed to protect <br /> the wells The elevations of the well-heads will be surveyed relative to the existing site datum <br /> Water Development and Sampling. Following installation, the new wells will be developed by <br /> surging, swabbing and purging at least 10 casing volumes of water Water samples will be <br /> collected from each well during the next regularly scheduled monitoring event following <br /> completion of development activities <br /> Chemical Analysis- Selected soil samples will be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as <br /> gasoline (TPHg) by modified EPA Method 8015, and BTEX and MTBE by EPA Method 8021 <br /> The samples will be submitted to a California certified laboratory for analysis <br /> . Soil and Water Handling Soil cuttings produced during drilling activities will be stockpiled on <br /> plastic pending transportation for disposal Water produced during equipment decontamination <br /> will be drummed pending transportation for recycling <br /> Reporting. After the field activities have been completed and analytical results are reviewed, a <br /> Supplemental Investigation Report will be prepared that, at a minimum, will contain <br /> • Descriptions of the soil sampling methods, <br /> • Boring logs and well construction details, <br /> • Tabulated soil analytical results, and <br /> • Laboratory reports and chain-of-custody forms <br /> Interim Remedial Action Activities <br /> We have requested confirmation of profile requirements for water treatment at the TOSCO <br /> Refinery in Rodeo, California Upon analysis confirmation, samples will be collected for <br /> profiling Batch groundwater extraction events will be scheduled following TOSCO profile <br /> approval <br /> 5 <br />
