(BVNA) presents herein a work plan for a limited subsurface
investigation (LSI) at the above-referenced property (the"Site"). The Site is currently vacant agriculture
land comprising approximately 113 acres on two contiguous parcels. The site is shown on Attachment 1
along with proposed future features associated with a planned FedX facility, including the main sorting
building with load wings, wash building, maintenance garage, fuel Island, and storm water basins. Site
uses historically included agriculture and an underground oil pipeline on the northwestern portion. A copy of the SHSP is included as
Attachment 2. BVNA will prepare and submit the required San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department(SJCEHD)Work Plan for approval and obtain the necessary SJCEHD drilling permits. A
subsurface utility locating service will be used to clear boring locations.
Field Activities: BVNA proposes to obtain soil, grab groundwater and soil vapor samples as described
below and depicted on Attachment 1:
• Up to 48 shallow surface soil samples(1 foot bgs)will be collected in a grid pattern across the
Site; the samples will be composited into 12 four-point composite soil samples to assist in
characterizing near-surface soils with respect to historical agricultural uses.
• Up to 16 soil and grab-groundwater borings will be advanced to a maximum depth of 40 feet
below ground surface(bgs),first encountered groundwater, or drilling refusal (whichever is
Bureau Veritas North America, Inc.
Health,Safety,andEflPhvillvewalSemires blain: (925)426.2600
2430 Camino Ramon,Suite 122 Fax: (925)426.0106
San Ramon,CA 94583 ww .us.bureauveritas.com
