E
3555 Hammer Lane
A Work Plan proposing interim mitigation measures further contaminant plume f
definition, and feasibility studies for this site should be submitted to PHS/EHD by March
31, 2000,
Feasibility studies will necessitate obtaining soil data regarding permeability, hulk
density, moisture, porosity, and organic carbon content in order to evaluate the rate of
contaminant migration through preferred lithological or other pathways. Provide
PHS/EHD with cross sections showing lithology and boring locations in relation to
contaminant concentrations. Preferred pathways for contaminant migration should be
identified. Pre and Post treatment goals should be identified for the proposed remediation
and/or treatment methods. Refer to EPA 510-B-003 guidelines dated October 1994
regarding the evaluation of alternative cleanup technologies for underground storage tank
sites.
Continue quarterly monitoring of all monitoring wells for TPHg, BTEX, and .Oxygenates
until otherwise directed by this office. Analyze groundwater samples for 1,2 DCA,
ethanol and methanol during the next sampling event. Depending on the analytical
results for these potential contaminants, their addition to the quarterly monitoring regime
at the site may be necessary.
Contact Carol Oz, Senior REHS at (209)468-3440 if you have further questions regarding
this letter.
Donna Heran,REHS, Director
EnvironmentalHealth
Division
Carol Oz, Senior REHS Margaret agorio, REHS
Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor
cc: Marty Hartzell-CVRWQCB
Al Martinez-ATC
f
i
