The
only remaining issue at this site is the methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE) currently being detected in
monitoring well MW#5. However, concentrations of MTBE in this well have been declining since the
monitoring for this constituent began in March of 1996.
Therefore, PHS-EHD recommends the sampling of only monitoring well MW#5 for futuref quarterly t
monitoring events. Should the declining trend of MTBE concentrations continue to be evidenced in this
well, PHS-EHD will present this site for closure consideration to the Technical Review Committee. The
Technical Review Committee consists of PHS-EHD staff, Central Valley Regional WaterlQuality Control
Board staff, and three members representing the community. k
I
If you have any questions or wish to discuss this'letter in more detail, please contact Linda Turkatte,
Senior REHS, at(209)468-3441.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
vAL
Linda A.
