From: Shearer, Sandra/RDD
Sent: Friday, August 13, 2010 2:00 PM
To: Bale, Josh/RDD
Subject: FW: BNSF Railway - Easements and Access
Josh,
Here is one email regarding KP-5S and KP-51). Correspondence with Matt Graham is below. I'll
follow up with one a more recent one as well.
Sandi
From: Shearer, Sandra/RDD
Sent: Tuesday, October 23, 2007 10:50 PM
To: Lucich, Roger/BAO
Subject: FW: BNSF Railway - Easements and Access
Hi, Roger,
Thanks so much for your help on Koppel.
Following are emails to BNSF and their consultant, Central California Traction Company, regarding
the two monitoring wells (KP-5S and KP-5D)at the southern end of the site.
I would like you to collect enough information to determine the feasibility and approximate cost of
(1)permanently moving the access ramp, uncovering Wells KP-5S and KP-5D, and installing
ballards or(2)uncovering and abandoning the wells. The Regional Water Quality Control Board
may not require that we immediately abandon the wells, so we shouldn't arrange for well
abandonment until the Board and our clients confirm the approach forward. The project number is
320184.RA.32. This is a small, private-client job, so the budgets are tight. Please let me know how
many hours you anticipate for the site visit and to help cost an approach forward.
Attached to this email are the following:
1. BNSF KP-5S-5D AccessAgreement.pdf-Access agreement for drilling and sampling KP-
5S and KP-5D. We would need to confirm that the existing access
agreement is sufficient for us to attempt to uncover KP-5S and KP-5D. We would need to
contact USA for utility clearance.
2. Aug-29-2007_KoppelMWLocations2.pdf-shows the approximate location of the wells as
indicated by the man standing on the ramp.
3. IMG.jpg files (4)-The JPG files show the exact location of the wells as indicated by the
highest stakes on the ramp (the other stakes are offsets in case the stakes on the ramp
are removed).
4. Stake101207.x1s -Survey information provided by Dan Davenport/SAC.
5. Fig0l.pdf-Site map showing well locations.
6. Spectrum Estimate.pdf- Estimate from Spectrum Exploration to simply repair the surface
completions of these two wells if they were uncovered and found to be damaged. We
should get quotes from Spectrum Exploration for abandonment.
7. KP-5S.xls and KP-5D.xls-Well completion logs.
8. UPRR Safety Training- Even though this is not a UPRR site, Spectrum and all CH2M
HILL staff would need to complete RR safety training for working near the BNSF main line.
Please confirm during your site visit that we are not within 25 feet of the main line. If not,
then only the one-hour online training needs to be completed, and no flagman is required.
9. Dave Buccolo/CCTC contact info.
10. Baylor Services contact info. Our site maintenance subcontractor, Baylor Services, has
equipment that they could use to help us uncover the wells and their rates are cheap (845
unar1m n
