22 May 2002
AGE-NC Project No.01-0877
Page 5 of 9
define the vertical extent of soil and ground water at the site.Proposed well locations are illustrated
in Figure 2.
The borings will be advanced utilizing a truck-mounted, hollow stem drill rig equipped with
8.25-inch diameter hollow-stem augers. The proposed ground water monitoring well borings will
be advanced to approximately 40 feet below surface grade (bsg). The proposed soil boring will be
advanced to approximately 70 feet bsg,or until petroleum hydrocarbons are no longer detected from
two consecutive soil samples as determined by field observation and field screening using an organic
vapor monitor(OVM).However, total depths of all borings may vary according to site conditions
1 encountered during drilling.
J Selected soil samples will be analyzed by a California Department of Health Services (DHS)-
certified laboratory for the following constituents:
• TPH-g, TPH-d and TPH-mo by EPA Method 8015 Modified;
Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX)by EPA Method 8260.
• Fuel additives including methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE), tertiary-butyl alcohol (TBA),
di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), tertiary-amyl methyl ether
- (TAME) ethylene dibromide (EDB) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) by EPA Method
l 8260.
l A grab ground water sample will be collected from the total depth of the deep soil boring utilizing
a hydro-punch sampling tool; the water sample will be analyzed by a DHS-certified laboratory for
( j the following constituents:
• TPH-g, TPH-d and TPH-mo by EPA Method 8015 Modified;
BTEX by EPA Method 8260.
• Fuel additives MTBE, TBA, DIPE, ETBE, TAME, EDB and 1,2-DCA by EPA Method
8260.
Laboratory reports for the soil and grab ground water analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality
i assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be
presented in a report with findings and recommendations.
I—
1 Advanced GcoEnvhonmental,Inc.
I
I
