' .07 February 2000 -
r
•'., AGE-NC Project No. 98-0468
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPH-d):by EPA Method 8015 Modified,
' Total petroleum hydrocarbons as.gasoline (TPH-g) by EPA Method 8015 Modified,
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX)by EPA Method 8020, and
Fuel oxygenating compounds including di-isopropyl ether DIPE• ,-eth 1 tertiary-butyl ether
(ETBE); methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), and
I' tertiary-butanol (TBA) be,EPA Method 8260.
Chain-of-custody protocols were used to.document sample custody'transfers.frorn the field to the
' analytical laboratory_. Sample chain-of-custody' forms and laboratory reports are provided in
Appendix C.
3.0. GROUND WATER ELEVATION,FLOW DIRECTION AND GRADIENT
' Ground water monitoringactivities included collection of round water elevation measurements
g
from site monitoring wells MW_I through,MW-5 (Figure 2). Measurement of depth to ground water "
' was performed prior to conducting ground water purging and sampling procedures at the site. A.
summary of depth to ground water and ground water elevation, measurements is presented in Table 1.
. 3.1. GROUND WATER ELEVATION
During'the November 1.999 monitoring event, the depth to.ground water at the site ranged from .
10.66 to 11.48 feet below top of well casings'(btoc) (Table 1)• Ground water elevation at the site
ranged from 3.7.7 to 4.40 feet below mean sea level (MSL) in well MW-3 and MW-4, respectively
(Table 1). Ground water elevation in'the monitoring wells decreased an average of 1.14 feet from
the previous monitoring event (August 1999).
3.2. ' GROUND WATER FLOW AND GRADIENT
A round water elevation contour ma for November 1999 is illustrated on Figure 3. Based on
g p g
ground water elevation data, ground water flow, direction is'inferred to be to the north-northeast.
. Ground water•gradient for November 1999 was calculated to be 0.0138. In general, ground water
flow direction and.gradient for November 1999 appear to be consistent with previous monitoring
events results.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
