All downhole drilling equipment was steam-cleaned and/or decontaminated
with alconox and water prior to use downhole. Locations of soil borings are shown on Figure 2.
F
Soil samples were collected from all four borings to observe the subsurface stratigraphy and for
6 ,
environmental laboratory analyses in order to evaluate the horizontal and vertical extent of soil
contamination b petroleum hydrocarbons.y p y s. 5011 samples were collected using a modified
rCalifornia-drive sampler lined with brass sample sleeves. Both the sampler and the sleeves were
Fdecontaminated prior to the collection of each sample. The steel sampler was driven into the
bottom of the borehole with successive drops of a 140-pound weight falling 30 inches. Blow
r
counts required for sampler penetration are shown on the boring logs in the column
"Blows/Foot". The soil was retained in 5-inch long brass sleeves and the sleeve ends were
immediately covered with Teflon tape, sealed with plastic caps, taped, placed in ziplock bags, and
laced in an ice-filled cooler. Selected samples were then transported, following P P p g appropriate
chain-of-custody procedures, to the State of California Certified, Chromalab, Incorporated,
analytical laboratory in Pleasanton, California, for TPH-G and BTEX analyses. Soil samples for
laboratory analysis were numbered according to boring/well number and depth. Analytical results
are presented in Figures 3 and 4 and Table l; these results are discussed in Section 5.L Copies of
the official laboratory reports, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Reports and Chain-of-Custody
F
CATEEL FILESICINTRA PARKICINTRA7-13.DOC
riw
t
