Subsurface Investigation, Well Installation, and Sample Analyses Results Page 9
Cintra Park Phase II Development,
Tract 2705, Tracy, California
July 23, 1998 CTE Job No. 20-0445B
4.2.2 Excavation Backfill
Excavation backfill, placed within the UST excavation, was encountered in well PMW-1
from approximately six fbg to 15 fbg. This material consists of soft or medium dense,
brown clay, sandy clayey gravel, and sandy clay to clayey sand.
4.2.3 Quaternary Alluvium
Quaternary alluvium was encountered from approximately five fbg to the total depth
explored in wells/boreholes that did not encounter excavation backfill. Lithologies within
the Quaternary alluvium included soft to hard, or medium dense to dense, silty clay, clayey
silt, clayey sand, sandy clay, silty sand, sand, and clayey sandy gravel. Colors included
brown, dark brown, yellowish brown, and gray.
i
' 4.3 Installation of Groundwater Monitoring Wells
r
I:
Groundwater monitoring wells were installed in three of the four soil borings. Borings PMW-1, SB-
1, and PMW-3 were converted to wells PMW-1, PMW-2, and PMW-3, respectively. Well
construction data for these wells is summarized in Table 2; as-built diagrams are shown in Appendix
t B. These wells were constructed consistent with the California Well Standards (Bulletin 74-90).
Screened intervals for these wells were from approximately 9 fbg to 14 fbg. The 0.020-inch,
factory-slotted PVC screen was surrounded by an artificial sand pack of#3 Monterey Sand to
1 .
C:ITEEL F1LESICINFRA PARKTINTRA7-11DOC
i
