AGS
into account the layout of the OWS system at the site and groundwater flow direction.
Five of the seven borings (B41OA-2through B41 OA-6) are located in the immediate area
of the Building 410A OWS system. These borings are positioned directly adjacent and
downgradient of key components and/or locations of the OWS system. Two additional
borings (B410A-1 , -7) are located at the upgradient and downgradient margins of the
OWS site. Soil samples will only be collected for chemical analysis from the five
borings located in the immediate area of the OWS system. These samples will enable
characterization and delineation of maximum vadose zone chemical concentrations in
the OWS area. Soil samples will not be collected for chemical analysis from the two
other, up- and downgradient borings because of their distance from the immediate OWS
area. Grab groundwater samples will be collected from all seven borings for
characterization and delineation of potentially impacted groundwater. Table 1 lists all
soil borings by OWS site and includes the purpose of each boring.
Building 508 OWS. Seven soil borings are proposed to be completed at the Building
508 OWS site (Figure 5). The boring locations at the Building 508 OWS site take into
account the layout of the OWS system at :he site and groundwater flow direction. Five
of the seven borings (8508-2 through B508-6) are located in the immediate area of the
Building 508 OWS system. These bcrings are positioned directly adjacent and
downgradient of key components and/or iccaiicns of the OWS system.
