2.0 FIELD INVESTIGATION
During this investigation, thirteen (13) soil borings will be drilled to obtain soil samples for chemical
analyses and lithologic characterization.
2.1 Permits
A Drilling Permit will be obtained from the San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental
Health Division (PHS-EHD) prior to the start of field work.
Underground Service Alert will be notified of our subsurface investigation at least two working days
prior to the start of field work. Clearance notification will be received from all effected utilities.
2.2 Drillin, and Soil Samples
Soil borings will be positioned to evaluate potential release of regulated substances due to past site
activities (see Figure 3).
• B 1 and B2 will be positioned where scrap equipment and parts have been stored out in
the paved yard areas, along the east property line. These soil borings are planned to
be advanced to 10 feet bsg.
• B3 will be positioned adjacent to where the diesel-fuel-system's dispenser is located.
This soil boring is planned to be advanced to 10 feet bsg.
• B4 will be positioned adjacent to where the inlet pipe enters the clarifier. This soil
boring is planned to be advanced to 15 feet bsg.
• B5 will be positioned adjacent to where the outlet pipe exits the clarifier. This soil
boring is planned to be advanced to 15 feet bsg.
• B6 will be positioned where a possible painting booth was located. This soil boring is
planned to be advanced to 10 feet bsg.
• B7, B8, B9, B10 and B11 will be positioned at unpaved areas where scrap equipment
(and possibly a waste oil above ground tank) had been stored along the south property
line. These soil borings are each planned to be advanced to 10 feet bsg.
• B12 and B13 will be positioned in the surface-drainage basin, near the south property
line. These soil borings are each planned to be advanced to 6 feet bsg.
GEE 2 Work Plan Phase II ESA Stockton
