APP <br /> Well Installation and Sampling at California National Guard Field Maintenance Shop <br /> Stockton, California <br /> 3.0 STATEMENT OF SAFETY AND HEALTH POLICY <br /> 3.1 CORPORATE SAFETY POLICY <br /> The following is excerpted directly from the OTIE Corporate Safety and Health Manual, <br /> Section 2.0 —Safety Policy: <br /> 2.0 SAFETY POLICY <br /> 2.1 Policy Guidelines <br /> It is a fundamental principle of OTIE that no job is so important and no service is so <br /> urgent that we cannot take time to perform our work safely. The Company is committed <br /> to providing a safe and healthful working environment. In all operating decisions, safety <br /> shall be the first and major consideration. We are committed to ZERO ACCIDENT <br /> PERFORMANCE and are dedicated to SAFETY EXCELLENCE. No operation shall be <br /> carried out at any site until safety is assured. <br /> The Company is dedicated to the concept that all accidents are preventable. <br /> Accordingly, the Company is committed to achieving and sustaining "Zero Accident <br /> Performance"through continuous improvement practices. <br /> The Company expects all employees, especially supervisors, to make every <br /> practical effort to prevent injuries. The Company believes that it is the responsibility of <br /> each individual to observe all safety regulations and to use good safety practices at all <br /> times. Our safety efforts must be cooperative in nature, and this cooperation is required <br /> for maximum results from our Safety and Health program. <br /> 2.2 Corporate Responsibility <br /> To protect employees from job-related injuries or illnesses and to promote a safe and <br /> healthful work environment, the Company management at the corporate level will: <br /> • Maintain an active Safety and Health Program for all employees; <br /> • Maintain a continuing education program to inform and train employees in safe <br /> work practices and procedures and to maintain employee interest in the safety <br /> and health Program; <br /> • Insist on compliance with safety rules, regulations, practices, and the use of <br /> prescribed safety equipment by all employees; <br /> • Maintain the programs and training necessary to comply with applicable <br /> government regulations; <br /> • Support an active safety and health member at each site to plan and take part in <br /> the safety and health program; <br /> • Foster an environment of continuous improvement by measuring performance <br /> metrics and soliciting on safety performance input from workers, supervisors, Site <br /> Safety and Health Officers (SSHOs), and safety and health professionals; <br /> • Encourage the use of safety incentive and motivational programs to encourage <br /> employees to work safely and develop safe work habits; <br /> • Conduct regular safety inspections to find and correct unsafe acts and <br /> conditions; <br /> OTIE 5 <br />
