Provide community
relations and database management support for all sites. Collection, management, and
technical evaluation of remedial/groundwater monitoring data, landfill gas data,
technical/remediation support, and community relations and database management
support for all sites at Moffett.
EMAC for Environmental Restoration Services, NAVFAC SW, CA. Environmental
Investigation, Operations, Maintenance, and Monitoring Activities, Marine Corps
Logistics Base, Barstow, CA.
The project scope includes the following major activities- General project oversight;
Operations, maintenance, and system monitoring activities;
Mobilization/Demobilization; Soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling for analysis of
(depending on sample) volatile organic compounds (VOCs), semi- volatile organic
compounds (SVOCs), polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), polychlorinated
biphenyls (PCBs), nitrates, nitrites, and metals; Compilation, evaluation and reporting of
analytical results, and Investigation-derived waste (IDVV) soil and water accumulation
and disposal. As Safety and Health Manager prepared the Site Safety and Health Plan
and Activity hazard Analyses for base-wide O&M activities in conjunction with the
project manager and the Site Safety and Health Officer/Field Superintendent.
Conducted a Site Safety Audit, met with the ROICC to discuss safety concerns for
upcoming drilling activities and overall site O&M activities. Updated site Hazard
communication and MSDS information.
Installation Restoration (IR) Site 08, Naval Underwater Service Center (NUSC)
Disposal Area Soil Removal Action, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, EFA
Northeast, Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Middletown, RI. Prepared Site Safety
and Health Plan and activity hazard analysis to provide the services necessary for the
removal of soils, drums and buried metal containers from the IR Site 08 — NUSC
disposal. Tasks included the excavation and removal of two potential contamination
source areas from the site. Possible chemical hazards included VOCs and heavy
metals from paint residues as well as methane produced form natural decomposition
of organic materials. Other possible chemical hazards exist due to the "functions" of
the facility. Site workers may encounter Otto Fuel II, which the Navy uses as fuel for
torpedoes and other weapon systems. An-other chemical that may be encountered is
HCN, which would be present, in high concentrations, in used oil from torpedo
engines. Physical hazards include heat and cold stress, heavy equipment operation,
lifting hazards, noise exposure, and biological hazards.
Design-Build Landfill Cap - Site 13, Defense Property Disposal Office (DPDO)
Yard, U.S. Navy Field Activity — Northeast Naval Facilities Engineering
Command, Naval Weapons Station (NWS) Earle, Colts Neck, NJ. As Safety and
Health Manager and CIH for the project, prepared Site Safety and Health Plan and
activity hazard analysis to provide services necessary for the appropriate design of a
low permeability landfill cap in accordance with Alternative 3 of the Record of Decision
(ROD) prepared for Site 13. Prepared and constructed a low permeability landfill cap
