April 16, 1999 iINVESTIGATION PROCEDURES Cambria's scope of work for the investigation included the installation of two 2-inch ground water monitoring wells and two 4-inch ground water monitoring/extraction wells on site and five CPT borings offsite The monitoring and extraction well locations and the CPT boring locations Iare shown in Figure 1 Analytical results for soil and ground water samples are presented in Tables 1 and 2 Personnel Present Project geologist Barbara Jakub of Cambria directed the field sampling, working under the supervision of California Registered Professional Civil Engineer Owen Ratchye Ron Rowe of the SJCPHS was onsite for much of the fieldwork Permits. SJCPHS Drilling Permits Nos 016251 and 016252 City of Ripon Encroachment permit No 1209 to install the borings in East Main Street (Both are from previous drilling events) Copies of the permits are presented in Attachment A . A 6-718-inch hollow-stem auger was used to install the 2-inch monitoring wells, and 10-inch hollow-stem auger was used to install the 4-inch extraction wells The first 5 ft of the borings were hand-augered Hydraulic direct push was used to perform the Cone Penetrometer Testing Number of Wells: Four Two 2-inch ground water monitoring wells (MW-2 and MW-3), and two 4-inch ground water extraction wells (EW-1 and EW-2) (Figure 1) IWell Materials- Monitoring wells MW-2 and MW-3 were constructed using two-inch diameter, schedule 40 PVC well casing and 0 010-inch slotted well screen Extraction wells EW-1 and EW-2 were constructed using four- inch diameter, schedule 40 PVC well casing and 0 010-inch slotted well screen (boring logs and well construction details are included in Attachment B) • 2
