C A M B R I A Mr Ron Rowe
. April 16, 1999
Well Depths• Well depths ranged from 37 to 45 ft-bgs (Attachment B) Cambria's
standard field procedures for monitoring well installation are presented
as Attachment C
Number of CPT Borings Five(CPT-11 through CPT-15)
Boring Depths The total depth of well borings ranged from 40 to 50 5 ft-bgs CPT
boring depths ranged from 60 to 70 ft bgs Boring Iogs are included as
Attachment B CPT boring logs are included as Attachment D
CPT Boring Logs CPT boring logs were generated by the CPT data acquisition equipment
These logs were checked by the Operations Manager for the In Situ
Division of Gregg Drilling, and are included in the data package from
IGregg Drilling, which is attached as Attachment D
Sediment Lithology The site subsurface consists of mixtures of interbedded clays, silt, fine
sands, silty sands and sands from the ground surface to the total depth
explored
• Sands were observed beginning at depths ranging from 48 5 to 55 ft bgs
to the total depth explored in all of the CPT borings installed during this
phase of the investigation with the exception of CPT-13 In CPT-13, a
sand layer was noted at a depth of 62 ft bgs, and primarily interbedded
silty sands were noted from 67 ft bgs to the total depth explored in that
boring of 70 ft bgs During previous CPT installations, only CPT4 was
completed at a depth greater than 50 ft bgs Sands were not observed in
the log for that boring below 36 ft bgs (See Attachments B and D)
Cambria prepared two cross-sections based on the monitoring well and
CPT boring logs The boring log lithology was simplified to differentiate
between fine grained soils (silts, sands, and the materials that the CPT
Ilogs included as cemented sand and stiff fine grained), and coarse
grained soils, (sands and gravels) The cross-sections are included as
Figure 2
3
