S
r `+ KLEINFELDER
SCOPE OF WORK
Kleinfelder has prepared the following scope of work to further assess the presence of soil and
groundwater contamination in the former UST area of the site. The services proposed for the
additional assessment consist of four tasks:
1) Drilling Permit and Workplan Submittal
2) Temporary Monitoring Well Installation
3) Sample Collection, Handling, and Analyses
4) Analysis of Data and Report Preparation
Task 1 - Drilling Permit and Workplan Submittal
Kleinfelder will install one temporary monitoring well at the subject site in a boring advanced by
truck mounted drill rig. The San Joaquin County Public Health Services Department
Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) requires a workplan and permit application for the
installation of temporary monitoring wells.
Task 2 -Temporary Monitoring Well Installation
A singl temporary monitoring well will be installed within the estimated former UST location at
M.U.S.D. to a total depth o approximately 17 feet. Approximate first groundwater is currently
estimated to be at a depth o 12 fee below the ground surface (bgs) based on correspondence
from M.U.S.D.. The temporary monitoring well will be installed using a truck-mounted drill rig
f equipped with 8-inch hollow stem augers. The borings will be drilled 1 ampled
following the protocol described in Attachment B. A two-inch diamete tempora well will be
' constructed in the boring, as described in Attachment B, Section B-3.1. The wells will be
screened from a depth of approximately 7 to 17 feet bsg. .
s
a
Soil cuttings will be placed on and covered by visqueen. Water generated while drilling will be
contained in 55-gallon drums and left on site. Water generated during steam cleaning of auger
and/or equipment and sampling of the temporary well will also be similarly contained. After the
+ temporary well is sampled, the casing will be removed and the boring will be grouted.
1
S 0 '
20-YP8-161/2018P[79 Page A-2
© 1998, Kleinfelder, Inc. lune 22, 1998.-
i
