ATC Associates Inc.
1117 Lone Palm Avenue,Suite B
CV)ATC Modesto,California 95351
209-579-222-2221
Fax:209-579-2225
A S S O C I A T E S I N C .
summarized in Table 2. Calculations mass extraction and vapor emission rates are included in Tables 3
and 4.
On October 18, 2011, the SVE system was shut off due to a noise complaint after operating for 30.6
hours. On December 1, 2011, the SVE system was restarted and allowed to operate for approximately
1.4 hours in order to collect decibel measurements and influent concentration data. Background decibel
measurements collected with a noise dosimeter at locations approximately 30 feet from the SVE unit
while it was shut off ranged from 57.3 to 63.3 decibels. Measurements collected while the SVE unit was
operating ranged from 63.1 to 70.2 decibels. On March 6, 2012, the SVE system was restarted and
configured for timed operation of 12 hours per day. The SVE system ran continuously (12 hours per
day) from March 6 through April 5, 2012. Available operations and maintenance field data and
laboratory data associated with the SVE system are included in Attachment 1.
RECOMENDATIONS
Based on operation data collected during this reporting period, ATC recommends:
• Continued operation of the soil vapor extraction system
• Continued operation of the ozone injection system
• Conducting groundwater monitoring in the second quarter of 2012 to include groundwater
sample collection from EWl, MWI, MW1C, MW2, MW3, MW3C, MW4, MW6A, MW613,
MW6C, MW7B, MW7C, MWIOB, MW11C, and MW12A. Monitoring wells MW1C, MW3C,
MW 1 IC, and MW 12A are recommended to be sampled in order to confirm the results of the last
sampling event which is the only time these wells have been sampled. Following evaluation of
the second quarter 2012 data, a recommendation will be made with regard to future sampling of
these wells. ATC recommends suspending sample collection from MWS, MW7A, MW8,
MW9A,MW9B, MW9C,MW10A, and MW10C.
If you have any questions or require additional information regarding this report, please contact us at
(209) 579-2221.
Respectfully submitted, PpFESS/0
ATC Associates Inc.
