1
' THIRD QUARTER,2001
. Q
' GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT
JAMAR OIL DISTRIEUTION
SEPTEMBER 2001
t The direction of groundwater flow has been calculated to be trending to the south-southeast with
a hydraulic gradient of approximately 0 001-feet/feet across the site as shown on Figure 5
Calculated groundwater elevations are summarized in Table 1, and shown on Figure 5
Groundwater Analytical Results
' TPH G, benzene and MTBE were detected in samples taken from all wells this quarter at
concentrations ranging from 280,000 micrograms per liter (µg11), 31,000µg11, and 160,000 µg11,
' respectively in MW-1,to 130µg/l, 5 9µg11 and 49 12g/1,respectively in MW-5 TPH D was only
detected in the sample from MW-1 at 82µg/1 Toluene was detected in samples from MW-1,
MW-4 and MW-5 at concentrations of 12,000µg/1, 190 µg11 and 3 4µg/1, respectively
tEthylbenzene was detected in samples from MW-1 and MW-3 at concentrations of 900µg11 and
520µg/l, respectively Total xylenes were detected in samples from MW-1, MW-3,MW-4, and
MW-5 at concentrations of 5,900 ug/l, 1,800µg11, 580µg11, and 3 8 µg11, respectively. Tertiary
butyl alcohol(TBA) was detected in samples four MW-2 and MW-5 at concentrations of 200 4g11
and 160 µgli, respectively DIPE, ETBE, TAME,EDB and 1,2 DCA were non-detect in all
samples taken this quarter
Groundwater analytical data are summarized m Table 2 and shown on Figure 4 Copies of the
laboratory reports with COC documentation are nicluded in Appendix B
' CONCLUSIONS
Generally, the petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations and MTBE have remained relatively
' consistent over the last two years The highest concentrations are found in the wells in the direct
vicinity of the underground storage tank excavation, MW-1 and MW-2, and in the most down
gradient well MW-4 The extent of impacted groundwater remains undefined at the site
GHH will continue to monitor the site on a quarterly basis with the next quarterly sampling event
scheduled for October 2001 At that time, the nearest domestic groundwater well will also be
located and sampled The Fourth Quarter Monitoring Report will be submitted by January 15,
2002
1
' 6
