Mr. Roberts has verbally indicated
that tank cavity backfill removal by vacuum truck and concurrent installation of appropriate
strength well casing material followed by repeated groundwater extraction in the tank cavity
would likely not jeopardize the integrity of the tanks or affect the warranty for the Joor tanks at
this site. (Other manufacturers besides JTM are potentially affected by this proposal. Written
approval from all UST system appurtenance vendors likely to be affected by your proposal is
recommended by PHS/EHD prior to proceeding with this project.
I It is important to note that any work in close proximity to active UST's are inherently high risk
activities.iiAs high risk, this type of work should be performed by appropriately registered and
qualified 'professionals using sound judgement at all times. Given these precautionary
statements and considerations the installation, operation and maintenance of the extraction
well may proceed at your own risk. Eventually the extraction well will need to be appropriately
closed. At that time a brief closure plan will be required. Should you have questions regarding
this correspondence please contact me at(209)468-0342.Thanks, Ron.
1 ,
