A recent review of the County EHD files
on the BJJ site show that there is a groundwater monitoring well
on the property to the area between the main building and a
storage shed It was placed to evaluate possible contamination
from a waste oil tank which was located beneath the building and
was abandoned in Rlace. Water samples taken in January, 1991 ,
shortly after acement of the taneves e t e presence o
ethylbenzene, xy ene, gasoline- Analysis of water
taken in January, 1993, revealed that BTEX & TPH-G were present
However, water samples taken in January & April , 1994, were below
detection limits for BTEX & TPH-G
As a result of those latest tests, it was inferred that the
hydraulic gradient is to the west-southwest, and a workplan was
prepared to place an additional well on the property to the south
of the waste oil tank. The pump island andtanks
were removed by company persorl sometime prior to May,
there are no records on the removal or disposition of the tanks,
no soil samples were taken, and the work was not Permitted or
witnessed by County persor4l
SUMMARY OF PRIOR INVESTIGATIVE WORK
On September 5, 1991 , Husky Crane, Inc_ submitted an Application
for Underground Tank Closure Permit to the San Joaquin Co RHD,
(EXHIBIT Dom ) for one (1) 500 gallon and one ( 1) 1 , 000 gallon
gasoline tank As noted above, the tanks had been removed in
1986 or 1987 , but that work had not been witnessed by San Joaquin
Co_ personel
On October 15, 1991 , the site of the removed UST' s was entered,
and three (3) Soil samples were taken one at 14' bgl from the
3
