i <br /> BJJ Co Surface drainage as shown on the USES topographic sheet, <br /> ('LATE TI_1 is generally west/southwest, from BJJ towards Husky <br /> Crane. Based on limited data, the groundwater gradient appears <br /> to be divergent, in a general south/southeasterly direction <br /> Although c nt was encountered during investigative work <br /> at Husky Crane at 6' b l immediately adjacent to the BJJ Co. <br /> Property, the source of that contamination has not yet been <br /> determined. According to the available records, there was no <br /> evidence of soil contamination during installation of the UST' s <br /> on the adjacent BJJ site <br /> In November, 1992, WJH submitted a workplan to the San Joaquin <br /> County PHS-EHD to place six ( 6) soil borings around the site of <br /> the removed UST to determine the lateral extent of arty possible <br /> soil contamination. The locations of those proposed soil borings <br /> are shown on PLATE VII. However, due to budget constraints, that <br /> work was not done <br /> On August 25, 1994, the workplan was .resubmitted by WJH, with <br /> minor changes as agreed to by the County EHD. This report covers <br /> the details of that work, and the results obtained A copy of <br /> • that workplan is .included as EXHIBIT H PLATE VIII is a site map <br /> showing the final locations of the soil borings- <br /> RESULTS OF WORK PERFORMED ON OCTOBER 3 & 13, 1994 , UNDER WORKPLAN <br /> DATED AUGUST 25, 1994. <br /> October 3 1994 - Wm J. Hunter, RG, arrived on site at 0800 , V & <br /> W Drilling Co_ auger rig & support truck had arrived shortly <br /> before. The locations of the 6 soil borings were marked off , and <br /> the workplan was discussed with the crew and Mr Johns of Husky <br /> Crane Because of the interference of overhead power lines, <br /> location F ' could not be drilled with this rig- <br /> The rig was mobilized on so-il__boring_' B' as shown on PLATE VIII : <br /> Tim Whitney driller, Bob Vickery, helper The rag was equipped <br /> with 5' lengths of 8 1/4" hollow stern augers, they had been <br /> thoroughly decontaminated prior to arriving on location The <br /> coring assembly consisted of an 18" California Modified split-- <br /> spoon sampler which utilized 1-1/2' diameter metal tubes. Two <br /> core barrels were available, while one was in use, the other will <br /> be emptied, thoroughly cleaned with Alconox & clean water, filled <br /> with new tubes, and set aside until needed Drell cuttings and <br /> unused core material will be placed in metal drums, they will be <br /> tightly sealed & labeled, and stored on location pending receipt <br /> of laboratory analyzes <br /> Don Light, from Del-Tech Geotechnical , arrived on location to <br /> assist augering operations. A properly field calibrated PTD <br /> 5 <br />
